Branding & Online Trainings
Client: University of Kentucky
Challenge: The Client, funded by an HHS Office on Women’s Health and HRSA grant, sought to launch IMPROVE (Improving Maternal Prevention Outcomes from Violence), a new program that is an extension of VIP CORPS, which was aimed at helping professionals better screen pregnant and postpartum patients for mental health issues, intimate partner violence (IPV), and substance use. The program needed a strong visual identity to convey its focus on maternal health and early intervention, along with engaging, accessible training materials for a professional audience. Given that, I created a logo and a series of optimized interactive modules that balanced sensitivity to the subject matter with clear, actionable education.
Solution and Approach: To anchor the IMPROVE brand, I designed a logo that subtly incorporated the image of a developing fetus within the letter "O," signaling the program’s focus on maternal and infant health. For the eLearning, I developed four interactive modules using Adobe Captivate, hosted on an online learning management system (LMS). The modules combined professional voiceovers, scenario-based activities, and knowledge checks to keep users engaged while reinforcing critical screening skills for mental health, IPV, and substance use. Throughout, I prioritized accessibility, clarity, and sensitivity, ensuring that the training was easy to navigate and impactful for social workers, clinicians, and other helping professionals.
