VPC Branding

Client: University of North Carolina Charlotte Violence Prevention Center

Challenge: The UNC Charlotte Violence Prevention Center was a brand-new office within UNC Charlotte that did not have a logo or brand identity. Since they are an official office within the university, brand guidelines had to be followed.

Solution and Approach: I developed a brand identity that aligned with the university’s established visual guidelines while still allowing the center’s unique mission and values to shine through. Working within the limitations of the university’s typefaces and color palette, I designed a logo inspired by the social-ecological model, a core framework guiding the center’s public health approach to violence prevention. Drawing on my background in public health, I translated this model into a visual concept that reflects the center’s layered, collaborative strategy for building safer, more equitable communities through research, training, and engagement.
